Merry Prepmas!

Christmas in pink is everywhere!  According to HGTV and other sources, the preppy look is in {accoring to some, it never left} for fashion and home decorating.  I love the pink/green color combo for Christmas.  I'm a huge fan of vintage pink and green and all things preppy.  My sister owned a Lilly Pulitzer store in Leesburg, VA, so I'm obviously a lover of Lilly as well.  I've spent many nights in lines waiting for the bi-annual warehouse sale in King Of Prussia, PA and have even tried scoping out her home in Palm Beach.  So sad not to have found that one!

To celebrate with a little pink and green charm, I created this DIY banner to celebrate.  I have it availabe in my Etsy store to make a full size or mini banner.  All you do is print on cardstock, string and embellish.  Very easy and quick for the craft challenged or for someone who just doesn't have a lot of time and want to add a little quick dazzle.

Miss Rhea's Easter Basket Swap Unveiling - Happy Easter!

Yippee!  My first swap is officially done and today is the big unveiling day!  My swap partners were Taylor from MaryJanes and Galoshes and Jeannie from Eye Craft.  I have to say that I am totally in love with everything I received.  I really had wonderful swap partners!  Check out all the other swappers at Miss Rhea's.

First from Taylor~

I love all the taffy colors and sweet pastel ruffles!  Soft aqua, blue, sweet pink.  Love, Love.

The springtime sentiments on the bottom of this little cup is so nice.  A nice breath of spring air!  The wand has been embellished with aqua glitter and has adorable inserts.  The one shown says, "Make it pretty."  It is pretty!

Coordinating spring wrapped candle.

A handmade ribbon rose.  Perfect for hair or anywhere a little pretty is needed.  I believe she has the tutorial on her blog.

Chocolate, taffy colored bunny and glitter clad wand.  Is there anything better?

~Second, but not least....Jeannie.~

I LOVE the sweet cream thick ruffles.  This pretty beauty screams feminine!  The whole kit and caboodle!

On the top is a Dept. 56 bunny pin with a glassy tinsel neckline.  Directly above is the sweetest little girl ever.  She is hopping all around!  I think this is so stinkin' cute!

I love this little fairy wand.  I will proudly display this year after year.  Above are some yummy embellishments.  I hate to use them because they are so dear.

Any guesses as to what it says?

~What I sent to Taylor and Jeannie~

Happy Easter to all!
{rejoice, again i say rejoice}

Sweet Monday and A Little Whoopie

I hope everyone has a Sweet Monday!

I'm looking forward to this very busy week.  My little man turns 6, so that is an event in itself.  Then volunteering at his school, church on Wed. and test runs for his Pinewood Derby for AWANA's, going back to Iraq dinner for my brother on Sat. and hopefully getting into the groove running this week.  Have a great week all!

Here's a little treat from me to you...  I love a good Whoopie Pie.  Especially when the cream is pink and blue!  Being from Southcentral, PA, I know that a lot of people haven't heard of this wonderful little treat.  They are part of our Pennsylvania Dutch hertiage here.  According to food historians, Amish women would bake these (known as hucklebucks at the time) and put them in farmers' lunchboxes. When farmers would find these treats in their lunch, they would shout "Whoopie!"

~Mr. Not Too Shabby~

I couldn't resist sharing what my husband made me for Valentine's Day. I was utterly impressed with this beautiful bouquet and, tongue in cheek, think it should be featured in Romantic Homes craft section!

{A husband is a guy who tells you when you've got on too much lipstick and helps you with your girdle when your hips stick.}

He used chocolates dusted with fairy pink sprinkles and pink candy foils. Silver tinsel rods and ballet slipper pink paper to create the cone. Adorned with delicate tissue paper tag and cut glass green leaves.

{pictures do not do these cuties justice}

{take notice to the scalloped, delicate petals}

{goat card i made him~we have two goats instead of dogs}

{cards my kiddos made with daddy's help~purse even has a working buckle}

{from my sister~lilly pulitzer pencils and cookies}

Happy Monday all!

Snowed In with Ava Rose

The Ava Rose collection is one of my favorite fabric lines. I received a quilt from my mother's friend, Kathy. I instantly fell in love! The soft hues of aqua and pink are my favorite color combination. So sweet~especially for St. Valentine's Day. After seeing a lovely post by One Ripe Peach, I had a spark of inspiration for a Valentine tribute of my own.

{first attempt at ruffle edges}

{one of my favorite Bible verses}

{the finer details}

{sweetly hanging above my couch}

This is crafted from paper, fabric, crepe paper, glitter, my printer, Singer and glue. It also features mica glitter dots and a vintage ear bauble under the verse.

My Dream and Crown and Crumpet

We all have dreams. Some big and some small. Some realistic and some not so easily attainable. What's my dream? I would love to own a pink frilly bakery/gift/coffee and tea shop. You know, some place to go with the girls where pink urns filled with pretty flowers welcome you. A safe refuge from dishes and children. Don't get me wrong, I love my children more than anything. I am with them 24/7 it seems and I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm just saying someplace to go past 8 p.m. to be pampered for a spell in a heavenly sea of taffy colored girliness.

I saw an article in Romantic Homes about a tea house in San Francisco called the Crown and Crumpet. It is an honest to goodness tea parlor. I love all the bright beautiful pictures and some day would love to visit it. Enjoy a little candy for this cold Wednesday!

~Cupid's Jig~

Just listed in Etsy and eBay~Cupid's Jig

Who ever knew that wreath making could be so fun and pretty!

Nostalgic charm oozing with soft, sweet sugary pink fancies! This 21" round wreath is a welcomed yummy treat to the eyes! Shabby pillowey pink feathers, authentic vintage baubles and buttons. Pink, white and black lustrous glitter accent the vintage inspired St. Valentine cards. Dainty paper lace white and hand painted pink heart doilies add an enchanting touch. I made a wreath similar to this a year or so ago and the buyer was ecstatic to say the least with it’s sweet charm and construction.

Blessings

Spring has sprung and gone...so put away that wreath!

Spring has sprung and gone...so put away that wreath!

Still standing~A vintage-inspired wreath I made this spring. I love how it turned out. Unfortunately, it clashes with my winter bird scene that is on my mailbox wrap. How tacky. I couldn't figure out how to get the stinkin' thing off the box. Maybe I should just call it a seasonal house. At least I don't have up Christmas lights!
